FG Will Address Rot In Education

The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai has lamented the decay in the nation’s educational sector but assured that the Federal government is committed to addressing the rot in order to meet the educational needs of all Nigerian.
Prof. Rufai noted that education plays key role in the growth and advancement of any nation and sued for support from all stakeholders to move the sector forward.
The Minister who spoke at the Federal Government College Otobi, 7th Annual Speech and Prize Giving Day/Launching of the College Magazine informed that the Federal Government was taking Education seriously as it has adopted it as one of its 4 point agenda.
According to her, “The Federal Government would continue to ensure that every Nigerian child is availed qualitative education just as it will not relent to ensure that the right policies are made in order to properly position the educational sector”.
Represented by a Director in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Bamidele Odusenya, she added that soon the fate of education in the country would change for the better and as a step towards achieving this goal, her Ministry has established a ‘School Based Management Committee SBMC’.
She stated that the new policy would ensure better and efficient management of Unity Schools since according to her the strategy would allow the colleges to manage their votes for capital projects.
